OUR MISSION - Richland One and Horrell Hill Elementary School will prepare every student to be a successful, contributing citizen in a global society by providing an effective and high quality education.
Horrell Hill Elementary School has been a part of the USC PDS Network since its inception in the early 1990s. As part of this initiative, Horrell Hill hosts teacher candidates each semester and works with USC faculty to facilitate the teaching of undergraduate methods courses on-site. In 2010, a pre-kindergarten teacher explored Writer's Workshop with a USC faculty member as part of this PDS collaboration. In the 2010-2011 school year, this initiative will expand to include an additional pre-kindergarten class of young writers. We invite interested folks to come and check out all that our youngest writers can accomplish!
Horrell Hill Elementary School is a comprehensive primary school located in the Lower Richland rural area, enrolling approximately 635 students in grades Pre-K through 5. The school employs 47 certified faculty and 24 classified staff members.
Our belief is that school is an integral part of the community and therefore should foster community involvement. With a concerted effort between home, school, and community, students can experience successful living.
