EDRD 518 - Introduction to Teaching Reading in Content Areas (PDF)
The professional educator is expected to have an understanding of reading and writing as interactive processes and is able to use a variety of strategies and methods to teach and enhance literacy for students on a variety of instructional levels. This course offers a variety of teaching strategies to enhance students’ reading and writing abilities in all content fields.

EDRD 600 - Foundations of Reading Instruction (PDF)
This class is designed to develop teachers’ knowledge and understanding of the linguistic, psychological, and social foundations of reading and writing instruction.   

EDRD 776 - Coaching Within Classrooms: Improving Teacher and Literacy Instruction (MSWord)
This class examines coaching principles and strategies related to improvements and innovations in classroom teaching and literacy instruction.  Emphasis is on ways to work with teachers in classrooms and professional development to bring about educational reform and improvements in teaching and literacy instruction.
