I am a native of Brazil born in Rio de Janeiro. I moved to the U.S. at age 5 growing up in the Washington, DC suburbs then spending most of my school-aged years in Europe. I have been a faculty member at USC since 1984 and am active in various professional organizations including the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

My research and scholarly interests include the preparation of teachers to make effective use of technology in schools, technology for teaching and learning mathematics, and distance learning related to technology and mathematics education.
