Physical Activities Program
Welcome to the Physical Activity Program at the University of South Carolina!
The mission of the physical activity program is to create physically educated participants who choose to be active on a regular basis (3 or more times per week) throughout their lifespan. We provide instruction in rules, terminology, strategy, and skill development. Students leave us equipped with the knowledge that will allow them to participate safely and enthusiastically in an activity of their choice.
The College of Education's Department of Physical Education and Athletic Training is proud to offer over 55 different activity courses taught by a combination of adjunct instructors and graduate students. These talented instructors have a wide range of experience and knowledge, guaranteeing you the highest quality instruction.
Our program is primarily housed in the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center at 1300 Wheat Street . The facility offers: indoor swimming, a state of the art weight training area, four gymnasiums, Racquetball and Squash courts, extensive cardiovascular training equipment, an aerobic studio, dance studios, locker rooms, athletic fields as well as lecture and laboratory space.
