I am an assistant professor in the Counselor Education Program in the Department of Educational Studies in the College of Education at the University of South Carolina . I teach and supervise students in the School Counseling and Marriage and Family Counseling tracks and the Counselor Education doctoral program.
Before coming to USC, I served as an elementary education teacher, school counselor, psychology instructor, and Psychology Division Chair. I completed a one-year residency program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey- University Behavioral Health Care, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit in Newark , New Jersey.
I have always maintained a keen interest in working with culturally and clinically diverse populations, particularly children and adolescents and their families in school and community settings. I relish this opportunity to share my passion for working with this population through training future counselors and counselor educators to be culturally competent service providers, sensitive and assertive student and family advocates, and effective members of a school community, human services agency, or faculty. If I can be of service to you, your school district, or community agency, please feel free to contact me.
