Support Request Form
The Office of Instructional Support hosts a number of activities every semester. These activities include: classes, workshops and project work sessions. In addition, individuals or small groups of students, faculty and staff members can request training with an Instructional Support trainer. Sessions for larger events, such as the University's annual Blackboard Institute, are also sponsored by Instructional Support.
Individual or Small Group Training Sessions
Requests for group training sessions are submitted through the online Instructional Support Request Form. Choose the "Requesting Assistance" option on the form and describe the interest or need. An Instructional Support trainer will meet with you and design a training session to fulfill the request.
Instructors often schedule an Instructional Support trainer to demonstrate specific
technology that is needed for an assignment during class time. The trainer will
schedule a time to meet wit the instructor prior to the demonstration to review
the assignment. The instructor submits the online
Instructional Support Request Form to request this assistance.
Students who need further assistance with technology assignments can set up an appointment
with a trainer by submitting the online
Instructional Support Request Form.
Classes Using Technology
Many events scheduled in the Training Center are for classes that use technology. Others are regularly-scheduled classes that meet in the current semester.
Workshops, Classes and Other Activities
Professional Development Workshops are offered to staff, faculty and students to enhance Professional Development at the College. These events are posted on the Professional Development web page. Click here to see what's happening.
Workshops, which include demonstrations and/ore hands-on training activities about current technologies, are offered throughout the year. In addition to one-time workshops, Instructional Support offers on-going workshops, which are scheduled around special interest groups.
Distributed Learning Group
This group is being designed for instructors of courses in which a variety of distance education and online delivery methods are used. The topics will be determined by the interests of the group and should be of interest to instructors using technology in their courses for the first time as well as those who are experienced. The goal of the group meetings are for participants to share concerns, expertise and experiences.
