Room 274-0 - Odyssey Room – This traditional
classroom is available for instructors who use the computer while teaching. It is
ideal for students' electronic presentations and guest speakers who use technology.
Room 274-D - Discovery Room – This computer
training classroom allows students to work on computers during class. It has a presentation
station and two dozen student computer stations with basic productivity and web
browsing programs installed.
Room 274-M - Matrix Room – This room
is primarily used for three purposes: events utilizing the audio- and video-conferencing
equipment, classes or workshops that involve training on multimedia development
software, and small group demonstrations such as dissertation defenses.
Room 274-N - Neon Media Studio –
This media studio is where the Instructional Support trainers schedule invidual
or small group appointments with the Collge of Education faculty, staff and students.
Most of the software on these computers is geared toward media production in programs
such as Windows Moviemaker, Camtasia, Breeze, and podcasting. In addition, scanners
and video duplication are available. Generally, the media studio is not reserved
for classes, but for individual projects.
Room 274-F - Focus Workroom
- This small workroom is where students or faculty can reserve computers to use
specific software programs. Included in this lab is the Praxis Practice Test, SPSS
and SAS statistical software and Inspiration software.
Wardlaw Room 030 – SCANA Science and Math Investigation Classroom
– This classroom was designed to be used for math and science
education classes. This room contains a presentation station and a variety of specialized
equipment.
Wardlaw Room 029 – Science Education Classroom
– This classroom has been primarily used for science education classes and
related instructional activities. It is a typical campus classroom with a data-ready
television and VCR (to which a portable computer can be added) and an overhead projector.
Specialized Stations – Specialized Stations
are available for demonstrations of instructional software and assistive technology
devices.
Hallway Stations –
Students may stop by Wardlaw 274 during normal operating hours and check email or
work on projects in Microsoft Office. Printing is available with a Carolina Card
for 10 cents a page. These stations are available during the Training Center's normal
operating hours from 8:00am - 5:00pm. If the Training Center is open late for classes
the Hallway Stations are available on those evenings.
Technology for People with
Special Needs – Assistive technology is available in
various places throughout the Training Center in Wardlaw Room 274, and appropriate
technologies can be made available in any of the Instructional Support classrooms
with sufficient notice.
