Conceptual Framework
The Conceptual Framework, Collaborative Educational Leader and Advocate serves as the common element among all initial and advanced level programs in the Professional Education Unit. It is based on the four core values of the College of Education and includes elements of Knowledge, Practice, and Dispositions that shape USC educators.
Employer Surveys
Employer surveys are a regular part of the College of Education and Professional Education Unit's assessment priorities. During Spring 2003, an employer survey was administered to schools in 7 districts around USC's programs in Columbia and Beaufort, SC to determine principal's satisfaction with USC graduates in K-12 education. General results of those surveys showed that principals are satisfied with USC graduates.
Exit Surveys
In spring 2007, the College of Education began administering exit surveys to all graduating undergraduate and graduate students. These surveys will be conducted three times a year. Results of these anonymous surveys assist College administration in making appropriate changes in services and programs.
Graduate Surveys
On behalf of the Professional Education Unit, the College of Education conducts graduate surveys every two years to strengthen and renew our programs. The most recent round of graduate surveys was administered in Fall 2007 to those students who graduated from any Professional Education Unit program from May 2006-May 2007. Analyses from this administration will be posted in summer 2008. Past general results of the surveys show that graduates are satisfied with their academic program at USC.
