This office was created as an active part of the administrative
unit within the College of Education (COE) in Fall 2000. It
is charged with maintaining the COE's accreditation through
the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education
(NCATE) for all applicable programs and with maintaining an
approved list of programs with the
SC State Department of Education
and the SC Commission on Higher Education. In addition, the Office
is also accountable for Federal and State reporting requirements;
the Professional Education Unit's assessment s system; external
national survey requests; assistance in preparing internal
annual reports and strategic plans; Title II reporting; and
graduate, employer, and support office satisfaction surveys.
This office falls under the responsibility of the COE's Associate
Dean for Academic and Student Affairs.
Renee H. Connolly is the Director of the Office of Accreditation
