Language and Literacy Library

The Language and Literacy Library was created for use by Language and Literacy program faculty. The materials cannot be checked out by students, but faculty members may check them out for use in their courses. However, everyone is welcome to browse through the catalog at this site. The library catalog includes books and journals in Wardlaw 214 and in 110. The collection in 214 includes text sets of children’s and young adult literature, leveled children’s and young adult literature, and books required for South Carolina’s English I and II high school courses . The collection in 110 includes teacher-education and literacy-related professional books, journals, and text sets of children’s and young adult literature for teachers to use to support studies across the curriculum. The Language and Literacy Video library is also catalogued at this site. It contains a collection of videos with specific instructional emphases, e.g. videos about literature circles, guided reading, or international children’s literature, created by faculty as they worked with teachers and students in South Carolina schools. In addition, there are commercial videos and references to streaming videos, all of which support the teaching of Language and Literacy faculty. Linked to the videos are articles that support students’ learning of the subject of the video.
