Welcome from Dean Watson

The University of South Carolina (USC) is committed to school-university collaboration in educator preparation. With that in mind, welcome to the "Impact Data" website of the USC College of Education.

We appreciate the opportunity to share our journey in continuous improvement of educator preparation with you.

USC-Columbia is the flagship institution and hub of the multi-unit South Carolina system which also includes four regional two-year campuses and three senior four-year campuses. Consistent with USC’s recognition as a leader in community engagement, the College of Education is proud to have received national recognition as a leader in developing and sustaining school-university partnerships. In April 2011, we were awarded continuing NCATE accreditation with no areas of improvement and were recognized for meeting the Target level for NCATE Standard Three: Field Experiences and Clinical Practices.

USC-Columbia serves approximately 3,000 candidates in educator preparation in programs ranging from the undergraduate through doctoral levels. Our Professional Education Unit includes six colleges and schools as well as our Professional Development School and Partnership Network of over 140 schools.

This website provides evidence of our impact in the field of education and shares specific initiatives related to our emphasis on the integration of theory and practice.
