The College of Education has been consistent in attracting external funding over the past five years, averaging $5+ million per year. With the University's and College's continuing emphasis on research activity, a new Office of Grants and Contracts was established in late 2005, with a goal to increase the College of Education's external research funding to $10 million annually by 2010.
The Director is charged with facilitating the grant-seeking process for faculty and staff through the research and distribution of competitive funding announcements from local, state, federal agencies, and private foundations; providing faculty with e-mail alerts on short notice competitions; developing a newsletter with recent proposal activity and awards received; assisting faculty with proposal guidelines and formats; editing and proofreading as requested; encouraging faculty participation and collaboration in grant-seeking; and database updating and recordkeeping. In addition, individual faculty or group consultations are available as requested for novice proposers. |
