I received a B.S. in Urban Studies in 1974 and a B.S. in Psychology in 1977 from Georgia State University. I received an M.A. in Developmental Psychology and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Psychology in 1980 and 1981 from Gallaudet University. I earned an Educational Specialist degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1993 and a M.Ed. in Educational Administration in 2001 from the University of South Carolina. I am presently conducting dissertation research in the Ph.D. Program in Special Education at the University. I have worked in K-12 public education for over 30 years as well as in the criminal justice system. I am a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. My research interest is in the field of Deafness with a specific focus on parent support, academic achievement, and quality of life for deaf persons and their families. I currently teach introductory courses in special education, a course in the characteristics of learning disabilities, and a course on co-teaching and inclusion. Vita (in pdf format) |
