TYPES OF DERIVED SCORES
Percentile ranks-scores that express the % of students that scored as well as or lower than a given student’s score
Standard Scores- Scores that have a set mean & standard deviation
Stanines- Scores which are ranges that divide a distribution into 9 equal units
Normal Curve Equivalent- scores which combine standard scores & percentile ranks with a mean of 50 and SD of 21.06
Age & grade equivalents- based on averages, estimates and the assumption of a smooth development curve
