Design Guidelines
Specific Case Studies and Web sites will also be required as part of
the Modules and posted on Blackboard. Modules will not be posted until
early January. In addition Modules will be available via Adaptive release,
meaning that as you complete one modules the next will be available but
all modules will not be available at the beginning of the course. There
will be at least 10 modules and not all modules will be the same in depth
and breath. Each module will focus on a different aspect of diverse populations,
technology and Universal design for learning. Modules topics will include:
Disability awareness, defining diverse populations, Universal design for
learning, software for accommodations, Web accessibility & 508, augmentative
and adaptive devices, research on technology effectiveness. Everyone will
be required to take part in one alternative activity of at least 2 hours
in length to broaden exposure to the field, opportunities include SCATP
AT Expo, EASI webinar, CITed Webinar, visitation to SC School for Deaf
and Blind, visitation to SCATP, or review of assistive technology in school
district.
