OBJECTIVES:

TSWBAT identify basic shapes. TSWBAT name basic shapes.
TSWBAT match shapes with names.
TSWBAT find shapes hidden in pictures.

CDRom - Allie's Playhouse

TYPE OF CLASSROOM ACTIVITY:

- Individual opportunity to explore shapes with software; class members can work on practice sheets with dot-to-dot shape images to be connected when not involved in computer activity. -Whole class interaction with boat pictures found at web site, displayed on large screen projector, taking turns identifying shapes - triangle, circle, square, and rectangle - as they find them.

PRE-REQUISITE SKILLS:

- Students will be able to use the mouse.
- Students will be able to take turns at computer and identifying shapes in pictures.

ASSESSMENT:

- by means of records contained in software.
- by teacher observation of student's ability to identify shapes in real-life pictures.
