Ways to Give

There are many different ways to make a gift to the College of Education. Most gifts that come to a given school at the University of South Carolina come through the USC Educational Foundation. The Foundations sets up the fund the donor wants to create and manages these funds. If a gift of property is made, these funds are handled through the Development Foundation.

Some gifts made to the College of Education can be used to help the College immediately and other gifts are deferred and can give you significant tax benefits and income too. Gifts can be made in the form of cash, certificates of deposit, stocks and bonds, mutual funds, real estate or personal property such as works of art, software, rare books and manuscripts. These types of gifts offer different tax benefits and it is wise to consult your attorney or financial advisor as to the best method of giving. Click here to make your gift online.

An out right or current gift allows the College of Education to meet current needs and opportunities. An out right gift can be used to endow a fellowship, professorship or program for a faculty member or student; or you may contribute to an existing fund. A gift of $25,000 is required to establish and endowed fund.

Planned gifts or deferred gifts allow you to benefit the College of Education in the future while meeting your own tax and financial needs today. Click on PLANNED GIVING to learn more about the different types of planned gifts available. Many of these gifts allow you to make a gift, receive income and significantly reduce your taxes at the same time. The University of South Carolina employs three attorneys specializing in planned giving to assist you with any questions you may have.
