The Family Fund
Meet Amy Fraley!
The Family Fund allows faculty and staff within the College of Education to help the students they teach day in and day out to meet their ultimate goals. I do not think that the faculty and staff realize how much they are appreciated. Not only do the students thank you for your never-ending support inside the classroom and throughout everyday life, we also thank you for your gifts through the Family Fund, which help us in so many ways.

The Family Fund is the University of South Carolina's annual giving campaign for faculty, staff and retirees to contribute to noteworthy initiatives of both the University and specific Colleges. By making a gift to the Family Fund, members of the University community are able to have a direct impact on the University community, our students and the state. These gifts strengthen the future by funding scholarships, making capital improvements possible, and supporting the three-fold mission of the University: teaching, research, and service.
Although the amount that is contributed is certainly important, the number of faculty and staff contributing is very important as well. One of the things that potential external donors ask is the level of support the University receives from its own faculty and staff. Last year, the College of Education’s rate of giving (percentage of faculty and staff contributing) was one of the four highest on campus. The focus of the Family Fund program this year is to increase participation, and the goal is an increase of at least 10%. Please give serious consideration to contributing to the Family Fund this year.
No matter the size of your gift . . . your gift matters!
Did you know that the Family Fund gives you choices? You may choose to designate your gift to a particular department or program, restrict your gift for a specific scholarship, fellowship, or chair, or direct your gift to the Faculty Enrichment or Staff Development funds. A list of specific funds in the University that need further funding can be found here.
