The Carolina Fund

One of the most important strengths on an institution, but one which is often overlooked, is the Carolina Fund. Many institutions of higher education, especially state institutions, rely heavily on the annual fund as a means to provide financial support to programs that cannot be met with state funds. The Carolina Fund provides essential support for fellowships, awards, funds for alumni activities and publications as well as funds for faculty needs.

The College of Education realizes the importance of the Carolina Fund as it works aggressively to increase participation and support for unrestricted support. With only a percentage of its budget coming from the State legislature, the College relies heavily on the generous support of its alumni and friends. This support gives our Dean important unrestricted funds to support faculty and students.

The Carolina Fund runs from July 1 through June 30 of each year. The goal for fiscal year 2005-2006 is $76,000. Another goal is to increase participation from our alumni over the previous year. Carolina Fund gifts are any unrestricted gift from $1 to $9,999 on an annual basis.
