Meet Amanda Roof!

Loves how walking the Horseshoe one afternoon and then Main St. the next makes you feel like you're in a completely different place.

Crazy about reading fiction novels concerning women her age and how they deal with life.

Just completed an Internship at Pierce Terrace Elementary School in a half-day 4-year-old preschool kindergarten classroom.

Thinks Charleston is beautiful, but says anywhere in Florida is her favorite place to be.

Dreams of teaching in an early primary classroom where she can enlighten children to the amazing things in our world.

Faculty have created opportunities for me and fulfilled my dreams through allowing me the knowledge to teach young children in a way that makes an impact on their lives. I know that I will be a great teacher because I have a large knowledge base of theory and practice. My collegiate experience has created opportunities and fulfilled my dreams because it has allowed me to meet new people with qualities that I haven't experienced in other friends and colleagues. I have also been placed in many different elementary schools for practicum experiences that have allowed me to work with different types of teachers, principals, and students. My time at the University of South Carolina has prepared me for the future in so many ways!
