Visit Special Education, if you would like more information on the programs before applying.

Select the degree program for which you are applying:

Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Special Education (for initial teacher certification)

Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Special Education (not for initial teacher certification)

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Special Education (not for initial teacher certification)

 

To apply to the M.A.T in Special Education, you must:

1. Print and read all information in the MAT General Advisement Guide.

2. Complete the on-line Admissions Information Form.

3. Complete the on-line Graduate School application.

4. Submit 2 letters of recommendation to the Graduate School (USC Graduate School, 901 Sumter St. #304, Columbia, SC 29208). Page down for Letter of Recommendation in PDF or Word format.

5. Submit scores on either the Graduate Record Examination or the Miller Analogies Test to the Graduate School.

6. Submit official transcripts reflecting undergraduate degree and any graduate work to the Graduate School.

7. Check with a representative from area to which you are applying for any additional requirements.

 

To apply to the M.Ed. in Special Education, you must:

1. Complete the on-line Admissions Information Form.

2. Complete the on-line Graduate School application.

4. Submit a Letter of Intent to the Graduate School. This is part of your on-line Graduate School application.

5. Submit scores on either the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) to the Graduate School.

6. Submit official transcripts reflecting undergraduate degree and any graduate work to the Graduate School.

7. Check with a representative from area to which you are applying for any additional requirements.

 

To apply to the Ph.D in Special Education, you must:

1. Complete the on-line Admissions Information Form.

2. Complete the on-line Graduate School application.
